Effective for all Catalogue years.
Technical Elective Restrictions
- The material covered in the course cannot substantially repeat the material covered in the Chemical Engineering core courses (e.g., a heat transfer course from Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering would not be approved.)
- Technical electives generally must be upper division courses. One lower division courses (e.g., dynamics, molecular biology) may count toward the 17 unit requirement.
- A maximum of 4 units of individual study/undergraduate research (199 courses) may count toward the technical elective requirement.
- Technical electives can include courses in engineering, science, and math. Keep in mind that students must accumulate a minimum of 72 units of engineering topics, and a minimum number of design units.
