U.S. Department of Energy Scholarships

The U.S. Department of Energy have scholarships available for undergraduate engineering majors.

Naval Nuclear Propulsion

This program will assist in preparing students for roles in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program and will support the broader objective of advancing fission energy development through the research efforts of the fellows. Eligible students are individuals earning undergraduate degrees in the physical sciences, life sciences or engineering. Some courses require students to enroll in a lecture together with discussion (co-requisite). When this type of restriction is applied to the course, students must enroll in the required courses otherwise he/she would be not allowed to enroll in the course. If you are interested:

NE Nuclear Engineering HP Health Physics

This program is designed to meet the Department of Energy's (DOE) need for appropriately trained personnel for the maintenance and development of nuclear power technology and for research related to ongoing programs at DOE facilities. Increasing costs for graduate education and a high demand for nuclear engineers and health physicists have had a negative impact on the number of well-qualified students seeking degrees in fission technologies and sciences. These programs assist in preparing students for broader objective of improving fission energy through higher education and research efforts. Eligible students are individuals earning undergraduate degrees in physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering. If you are interested:
  1. Go to Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics to download a copy of the 2004-2005 application and description.
