The American Society of Naval Engineers

The American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) sponsors a scholarship program encouraging students to enter the field of naval engineering. Scholarship awards of $2,500 for undergraduate students and $3,500 for graduate students will be made for the 2004-2005 academic year.

To be eligible, students must:

  • Apply for either the last year of a full-time or co-op undergraduate program or one year of graduate study leading to a designated engineering degree or physical science degree in an accredited college or university.
  • be a United States citizen.
  • have demonstrated or expressed a genuine interest in a career in Naval Engineering, For example, activity in a professional engineering society and extra-curricular engineering activities.

Graduate students must be a member of ASNE or SNAME. Candidates may join ASNE when applying for the scholarship.

Applications are available in the Engineering Student Affairs office (ECT 101). Scholarship application must be received February 15, 2004.
